Chiropractor care VS Inversion Table?
I recently saw a chiropractor for sciatic pain, but after getting x-rays done, discovered the sciatic pain is due to degenerative disc disease. Although I'm finding my visits to him effective, I cringe when I think of the bill I'm racking up at his office.
My stepdad is giving me his inversion table, and says to use it rather than see the chiropractor, that the table is just as effective. Is this true, or would I be doing more harm than good to myself by trying to be a penny pincher?
Any help/advice would be apprectiated!
Both can be good and both can have problems. obviously you have been getting some good results with the chiropractor, but you need to make sure he has also been giving you exercises to strengthen the spine. There have been some new studies that indicate chiropractic care and /or physical therapy can prevent degenerative disc disease, but in your case they can only help prevent it from getting worse.
Inversion tables are great providing you don't have knee, hip, ankle, heartproblems, or acid reflux. All are bad when combined with inversion tables. But if it helps as well and makes it so you can go longer between visits and be more active then you have nothing to lose.
I would also recommend Omega three fatty acids. roughly around 3000mg/day. not 300, but three thousand. so by the horse size pills.
